I was in that (admittedly enviable) position one year when I was working in Warsaw. Each weekend it felt like Europe was my oyster, and I'd feverishly explore each city, trying to extract its essence before the clock struck midnight on Sunday and I had to return to work.
Between the blogs, guidebooks, lodging sites, and recommendations from friends, I scrambled to piece together itineraries that relieved me of "tourist" status.
I returned to the US with an idea. I've always believed that vacation rentals offer the best way to feel like a local when you travel. They also evoke the spirit of freshly-baked-cookies and spending-time-with-your-family vacations, and these days we don't get a lot of that kind of homey togetherness. So I wanted to give people a chance to experience it (while saving them from the Tourbus Crowd).
Starting in Northern California (but with global sights) Inhabit Vacations is where anyone can look to find a special place to call home for a couple nights, a week, or even a month. We also let you know about cool things to do locally, so you never feel like just a tourist. Because we get it: traveling is fun, but looking like a dork isn't. With a background in management consulting, she has helped Fortune Global 500 companies increase profitability and streamline operations. And while that was great, it wasn't her passion. So she has taken her considerable business acumen and combined it with her love of off-beat, local culture creating Inhabit Vacations. She graduated from Wesleyan University with High Honors.
